SHAME SACRIFICES SERENITY; SAFE SHARING SATISFIES THE SOUL. © Meshell Baker

What if they knew?  What if they find out?  Feelings of shame have many forms.  It doesn’t just arise from the guilt of bad decisions.  There is also humiliation heaped from self-doubt and past abuses.  It is an incredibly difficult life lived in the regret of what cannot be changed.

Each day is a new opportunity to choose wisely.  But so many of us are rooted in past hurts or frozen in the fear of future’s vast possibilities.  The only way I’ve found to cancel shame is prayer and share. Time in the Lord strengthens my spirit and safe sharing severs shame’s power.  Speaking the deep dark ugly out loud defeats its power.

You are so much more than your past and your mistakes.  Find a way…do whatever it takes to walk in the knowledge that you are wonderfully and beautifully made.  All that has happened in your life is for you, not to you.  There is peace and purpose to shame found in the Lord’s LOVE and grace!
