WEEK 4 – Drive

WEEK 4 - Drive

What is the driving force behind BIG DREAMS? Great achievements? What is it that keeps people impassioned and invigorated to follow the path down the road less traveled? Key entrepreneurs were asked just that, and their answers may come as a bit of a surprise to you, because none of them said money. In fact, there’s a lot of research to back up the idea that getting paid to do what you love is rarely motivation to keep going. And almost never holds up in the face of adversity.

What is important is becoming an expert in You. I recommend acquiring a PhD in Understanding What Drives You! Take time to uncover the root of what inspires and invigorates and excites you. What’s making you get up and do what you do every day? Has your drive been birthed by your desire to be independent? The need for security of multiple streams of income? Or maybe your drive is rooted in an obedience to manifest your gifts and talents and leave a legacy? Begin to observe your thoughts that are helping you stay focused.

Gain an understanding of your drive, this momentum that is as unique as you are has its benefits. I have mentioned in a prior article in this series that following your BIG DREAMS does not come without challenges. So obtaining a comprehensive understanding of what drives you will bring with it infinite rewards. Because for most of us, this journey becomes a struggle. We wander off the path and get caught up in the weeds of busyiness! Fret not, just remember to reflect on your WHY’s: “Why did I start down this path?”, “What change do I want to cause?” or “What is the Vision I have for my journey?”

We all want to be remembered for something, and many of us have jumped into the world of business with the hope of making a big difference. So pinpoint the drive that initiated your endeavors and never lose sight of it! By understanding the reason for your driving passion, you can identify exactly those activities that are fueling your momentum and helping achieve your vision. By maintaining and increasing these activities you will keep your internal intensity flame stocked!!

Get a clear a clear idea of what you want to do and where you want to go and why you want to do it at all! Never forget to keep in sight what drives you, and always continue to strive!
